LWhilst the smallest town in the conurbation,
it is no less attractive. Many an historian and student have
scoured its past, and Saint-Vivien has made a speciality of
archaeological research. Here are stored the finds from digs
made all over the northern Aunis. This rural town, where agriculture
has been taken over by a new generation of farmers, also has
a craft-industry estate, which generates roughly one hundred
jobs. Small but lively, Saint-Vivien is approximately midway
between La Rochelle and Rochefort, at the edge of the marshlands
and near the coast, a enviable location indeed! |
