I set up my company in Paris, but without intending to stay there.
I really didn't want my children to grow up in the capital. When the third was born, we decided to leave, and very quickly settled our choice on La Rochelle, a medium-size city on the Atlantic coast, with its own university and the advantages of environmental quality, good facilities and infrastructure. From a professional viewpoint, we found the support and assistance we needed for our expansion with the Urban Community's authorities and in an economic fabric offering a range of packaging and other useful service providers, with whom we established good neighbourly relations. We also hired people locally for all but a few very specialised positions, though the company and La Rochelle are sufficiently attractive for people to want to move here, as I did, with their families. |
